Simulation improvements
Patch notes: V 0.2.06.046
From this version onwards, changes have been made to the overall simulation of the thermal balance between the core, evaporators, and condenser. With the introduction of external factors such as cooling towers, these improvements became necessary.
In the previous version, the condenser module was simplified compared to other parts of the game, and it did not significantly affect the plant's operational mechanics. However, from now on, maintaining control between the temperature generated by the core, vapor pressure of the evaporators, and condensation will be much more realistic.
What will happen to my saved progress?
The new version is completely compatible with previous progress, but for safety, when you load the game, you will be warned that a significant change has been made and the reactor will be in emergency shutdown. You won't lose any points, experience, or anything else, but the plant will be shut down.
So, how does the condenser work?
In brief, the core heats up the refrigerant, which, in turn, heats up the water in the evaporators. The pressurized evaporated water moves the turbines. And what happens to that vapor next? It passes through the condenser, where it's cooled back into liquid form. Then it returns to the evaporators, where it cools down the refrigerant, and the cycle repeats continuously.
What happens to the internal temperature of the condenser?
If the refrigerant returns to the evaporators too cold, it will affect the reactor's performance as it will require more power to keep running. And if it's too hot, it won't cool down the evaporator enough, causing the overall circuit's temperature to rise.
What if the condenser is empty?
If the condenser is empty due to loss or evaporation, the vapor will not condense, and eventually, the evaporators will run out of refrigerant.
How do I cool the condenser?
The condenser has a dedicated circulation pump that draws in cold water from the outside and takes the hot water from the condenser to the cooling towers. The cold water circulates inside the condenser, absorbs heat, and then removes it in the cooling towers.
