Cooperative Mode (BETA)

Cooperative Mode (BETA)

Patch notes: V 0.2.07.069

The cooperative mode allows you to enable the plant at any time so that other players can join the game and operate the reactor together. The player who opens the plant becomes the Host, and the players who connect will be the Clients.

How do I start the cooperative mode so that other players can join my game?

To start the Cooperative Mode, the player who will be the Host must access the tablet and click on the "Cooperative" icon, then on "Start". The connection notice and the list of players joining will appear on the tablet.

The IP provided on the tablet when starting the cooperative mode corresponds to the Host's internal network. If the clients will connect from the same network as the host, they can use that IP to connect, but if they connect from an external network, they will need the IP of the Internet provider (not the one shown on the tablet).

If you don't know how to obtain the external IP of your connection, you can use a service like What Is My IP

Required ports: 7777 (TCP and UDP).

How do I connect to another player's game?

You should ask the Host for the connection IP, then start the game and from the main menu select the "Connect" option. Next, you can choose an avatar, a name, and enter the connection IP provided by the Host.

Synchronization

Each time a new player joins the game, the Host will automatically send the general state of the game to the Client. During these seconds, the Host and the connected Clients may experience some slowness.

During the synchronization time, the Client connecting to the Host will be able to see what is happening but won't be able to move. An on-screen indicator will show the progress of synchronization.

What is the current status of the Cooperative Mode?

It is the first open Beta so that all players can try out this new game mode. Some game elements are still unsynchronized, and others synchronize imperfectly. Gradually, in each hotfix, I will correct the issues and add the missing synchronizations.

AO is not yet synchronized, so clients won't be able to see what it is doing or give it orders (only the Host can do that).

Important

The host can save the game progress, but the clients cannot. The actions that everyone has performed will affect the progress to be saved, so be careful with what you do during the game.

Prestige points and rewards

During the Beta, there won't be rewards or prestige points for the clients, but they will be available once the tests are finished and the errors are corrected.
