Load profiles | Energy Demand Timings

Patch notes: V 1.2.19.156

The new statistics on energy demand timings were sourced from various organizations that monitor and report on electricity usage. These sources include:

  • Red Eléctrica de España (REE): This organization provides periodic reports and real-time data on electricity demand in Spain, highlighting daily consumption patterns and peak usage times.

  • ISO New England: This regional transmission organization in the United States offers detailed real-time data and historical statistics on electricity demand in the New England region.

  • California ISO: Similar to ISO New England, this organization manages the California electricity grid and provides extensive data on electricity demand, including real-time and historical trends.

  • U.S. Energy Information Administration (EIA): The EIA offers comprehensive data on energy consumption across the United States, including detailed breakdowns of electricity usage.

  • National Center for Energy Control (CENACE) in Mexico: CENACE publishes detailed reports and statistics on electricity demand throughout Mexico.
Therefore, the game was set up as follows:
  1. Morning Peak:

    • Time: Generally between 7:00 AM and 10:00 AM.
    • Reason: Morning activities in households, such as using appliances for breakfast, water heaters, and the start of work activities.
  2. Evening/Night Peak:

    • Time: Between 6:00 PM and 10:00 PM.
    • Reason: People return home, turn on lights, use appliances for dinner, and increase the use of electronic devices for leisure.
  3. Demand Valley:

    • Time: Generally between 11:00 PM and 5:00 AM.
    • Reason: Most people are sleeping, and the use of devices and appliances is minimal.
  4. Average Demand:

    • Time: Between 10:00 AM and 6:00 PM.
    • Reason: While household activity decreases, energy demand remains significant due to commercial and industrial use.
